BMJ Connections Oncology: Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board
In the fall of 2024, BMJ will be launching a new, open access journal dedicated to the publication and dissemination of scientifically sound studies that provide insights into cancer diagnosis, treatment, and management, and those that enhance understanding of cancer biology and molecular mechanisms. BMJ is seeking a Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board to support the journal. The Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board is responsible for helping to develop the journal's scope, content policies and procedures, and for advising on the appointment of its Editorial Advisory Board.
About the role
The Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board will:
- Advise on journal editorial policies and scope
- Work with BMJ to ensure the journal attracts a diverse range of contributors, research methods and readers
- Help keep the journal up-to-date on innovations and best practice in oncology research and practice
- Advise, when necessary, on complex editorial appeals or research integrity issues
- Act as the lead ambassador for the journal
- Consult on ideas for special issues and themed collections
- Help recruit the broader International Editorial Advisory Board with a focus on seeking diversity on multiple fronts, including race, ethnicity, gender, professional background, and nationality
